Fire 5/2/2/2 (don't want to get AoE spells up until I unlock wildfire)

9 unspent skill ponts, unused Heart of Sandqueen
0 deaths/5 lives
190 shielding rune
T5 staff with +30% damage to all mage elements, 28% crit multiplier, 34 spellpower, 13% crit chance, 13 see invis
4/5 phase door, 1/5 Disruption shield
Aeigis 3/4/1/1

Situation: Just walked into a flame Daikara, and to make the situation worse it has a thunderstorm over head.

I was saving the skillpoints for wildfire when I unlock it (650k damage to go...Planned on farming ruined dungeon or doing a alchimist side character).

Question: Does anyone have any tricks to make this easier? Glove of light + 200 power wand of destruction only does so much. I've fought this boss once before, and she was a pain in the butt on a lightening/fire mage. I'm not sure what to do here. The only thing I can really think of is to drop 3 points into lightening and go that route, removing the points before level.

What do you mean, 'unused heart of sandqueen'???

Add another point to Illuminate for more light based nuking?

I might well be wrong here but I think getting the Wildfire unlock just adds it to subsequent Archmages, I don't think you'll get it on this one so you may be saving those points for nothing. Can someone confirm/deny this?

Skip Daikara, until you get Wildfire or Elemental Fure ring. Or just leveled up enough.

Yeah I'm almost certain this is the case. You won't get wildfire on that character when you unlock it, only new ones made after the unlock.

It will carry over to future mages as well as the current char, methinks.

Sandworm queen, apologies. I just picked it up a level ago and haven't used it, so that adds some talent points to the pool of those that I have avaliable. Also, the extra point into globe is a good idea, but +40 damage again the red dragon isn't going to help much

That's a scary thought. It doesn't make sense to work that way though.

It doesn't work that way, you will get the category.

Only if you're playing that Archmage when you unlock it.

That makes much more sense, thanks for the clarification guys.

You may consider temporarly putting 4 points into manathrust & lightning for the 4 last class talent points invested can be unlearn.
Proceed with lightning/arcane beams + illuminate on everything that is fire immune, then take back these points once the level is cleared.
