Get it here https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/shoot_tweak or on the Steam Workshop.

Pretty straight-forward, this addon will cause all actors to generate with the 'Shoot' talent, in the same manner that all actors normally generate with the 'Attack' talent. Simply open the talent window (default 'm') to find the talent and then assign it as you see fit. Of course, you will still need ammo and a ranged weapon to actually use the talent.

The way that 'Shoot' is auto-learned in the base game is not at all intuitive (some classes learn it just for being the class that they are, while others will learn it from investing in specific talent categories, i.e. any talents in a tree that start with 'technique/archery'). Also, in the AoA and Orcs campaigns, this talent can be trained at a very low cost from certain vendors, but is not available in the ID or (I think) the Arena. This makes creating Adventurer builds which are inclined to use ranged weapons almost impossible to start in higher difficulties or alternate campaigns if that build uses ranged weapon talent trees which do not begin 'technique/archery' (such as those from tinkers and the new Archer trees).

While this could have been accomplished by changing ranged weapons to grant (rather than require) the 'Shoot' talent, or by changing the definition for Adventurers so that they, in particular, would learn 'Shoot' by default, this was the most direct and simple solution. Also, if no special talent is required to swing an axe or thrust a dagger or... whatever it is you do with a mindstar... it follows that there should be no special talent needed to shoot a sling or bow or steamgun. How proficient you will actually be with said weapon is dependent on your stats and talents, anyway.

As always, feedback, questions and comments are most welcome.

Enjoy!
