Creates a setting under Game Options/Gameplay for selecting the
first escort that will spawn.

This is intended to allow players to make characters that rely on a certain
escort reward without having to reroll repeatedly or savescum to get what they
need, but not gain the advantage of selecting ALL the escorts to get the best
possible reward every time. With this addon, only the first escort to spawn
will be of the selected type; all others will be randomly selected.

An advantage of this over addons that allow selecting the escort type when it
spawns is that it is less likely to cause bugs. This addon does not create a
new in-game menu, but rather handles selection through the settings menu.
Escorts are generated using the standard quest code.

I did some basic testing to ensure that it works and doesn't cause obvious bugs,
but please let me know if you encounter issues. Also, feel free to make suggestions
for ways to improve the addon.

Before anyone asks, I don't plan to change it to allow selecting multiple escorts.
Very few builds need multiple escort rewards to be viable. This is not intended
to be a "cheat" addon, just a tool to reduce the tedium of rerolling/scumming until
you get a specific escort. If you want to select all escorts, I recommend using
another addon such as this one.

Good. Selecting all escorts was super excessive when just the one with Tinkers/Light would work.

Had been working for me and stopped, specifically in its ability to select the tinker escort (have not tried others recently). I have Embers installed, wondering if some update made the mod ignore Ember's presence. About 30 minutes of save-scumming did not produce a tinker escort, but sometimes RNG is cruel.

Make sure the EoR addon is loaded. I think this requires verification with the te4.org server, so it might not work if you're playing offline or the server is down. Other than that, I'm not sure what would be causing the problem. This addon matches the selected escort name to the entry in the list of possible escorts, so if it's normally possible to get the selected escort type it should work.

I know the previous comments were from over 2 and a half years ago, but I want to report that I have not been having any issues with this addon. I especially like the balance of convenience and time saving without excessive bonus power. Plus of course it helps that the first escort is the one most likely to be saved.

So, after taking a long break from ToME I've started playing again. I noticed that the v1.6+ patches removed the lost anorithil escort and replaced it with a lost defiler; this addon is now updated with that change. I suspect the change was made in v1.6.0 but I set the required version to v1.6.7 (current) since the patch notes weren't clear on this point.

ToME v.1.7.0 changed the escort generation code, so this addon wasn't working anymore. I just released version 1.0.3 of this addon that works correctly with the current version of ToME. As a bonus, the list of escorts you can select is now dynamically generated based on what's available in the game rather than being hardcoded, so this should automatically work with other addons and DLCs that add/remove escort types.
