Bone Spear

Targeted DoT.
Instant Cast.

Fire a Bone Spear at your target every turn for a scaling duration.
Bone Spear damages any enemies it hits.
Cooldown is refunded if your target dies before the duration ends.

Every enemy hit Impales them, and grants yourself a Bone Shield charge.
Impale increases the damage of future Bone Spears by 25%, and stacks up to 4 times.

Bone Shield

Talent Level is equal to Bone Spear Talent Level.
Max Charges changed to 12.
Now gain/lose 1 every turn until you reach 2 charges.
If enemies are within 10 tiles of yourself, you do not gain/lose any charges that turn.

Bone Grab

More extreme scaling.
Applies two Impale stacks, but does not benefit from it.

Bone Nova

Untargeted DoT

Fires Bone Spears at all targets within a scaling radius for a scaling duration.

Every enemy hit Impales them, and grants yourself a Bone Shield charge.
Impale increases the damage of future Bone Spears by 25%, and stacks up to 4 times.

If less than a scaling number of enemies are within range, fire a second Bone Spear at all targets within range.

Bone Rain

Targeted AoE DoT

Fire Bone Spears at target location for a scaling duration.

Every enemy hit Impales them, and grants yourself a Bone Shield charge.
Impale increases the damage of future Bone Spears by 25%, and stacks up to 4 times.

Clarification: does this mean that these are not worth using at all until you get the Shield running?

Spear - Can be used if yer low on Vim, or if you simply don't have other spells off cooldown. It's 1 turn cooldown gives it many uses.

Grab - Always sexy.

Nova - Actually an incredibly crowd clearer. On the level of Anorithil if you max it out.

So I, personally still use them, but it's up to one's opinion.

Now, don't let this stop you from recommending something.
Spear's value is intentionally extremely low to stop anything super silly from happening, after all, so things can be changed.

does the black robe reflect your changes to bone spear?

Completely forgot about Black Robe...

Yeah, it'll reflect it... but every single proc if it will cost you health, so I'd recommend against it.

Those health costs bypass Bone Shield charges, right?

The health costs should bypass just about everything defense-related.

Version 2.0 - The Buff Patch
http://te4.org/sites/default/files/game ... one_1.teaa
---
For those wanting a reason to use it before Bone Shield, beyond usability.
---
Bone Spear's cooldown has been reduced at earlier levels.
Bone Spear now does it's damage in one number, instead of 2.
This was originally done for testing purposes, but now that it's working fine, I apparently forgot to switch it over to a singular damage value.

The Impale debuff can now stack up to 4 times, and now lasts 4 turns.

Bone Grab now applies 2 Impale stacks.
Bone Grab's range has been increased.
Bone Grab's cooldown at earlier levels has been decreased.

Updated Bone Shield's description to state that it naturally regenerates to 2 shields.

The health cost of Bone Spear, Bone Grab, and Bone Nova can no longer surpass 5%, 12.5%, and 20% of your max life, respectively.

Version 3 - The OMGERDBONES Patch
---
Bone Spear is now instant cast.
Bone Spear now causes you to cast a Bone Spear at your target every turn for a set duration.
If the target dies while the duration is active, Bone Spear's cooldown is reset.

Bone Nova now fires 2 spears at all targets within range if there are less than a certain number of targets in range.

Bone Shield is now learnt on equal levels with Bone Spear.
Bone Shield has been replaced with Bone Rain on the Talent Tree.

Bone Rain is a targeted active with a range of 9, and a radius of 1.
On cast, you fire a Bone Spear at all tiles within your targeted area for a set duration.
Spears can hit enemies multiple times.
Spears will only fire if you can see the location.

I like it. It seems however a bit overpowered. The auto-cast bone spears seem to trigger the reaver's free melee attacks, and it is very easy to regenerate all charges of your bone shield (up to 12) every turn.

Bone Nova costs a lot of health (and gives ridiculous amounts of charges in return). The health cost seems to scale with fatigue, is this intentional?

You could make the health cost a percentage of the current health, so it becomes cheaper at low health.

It is possible to skip learning Bone Grap at all. Intentional?

It is not possible too unlearn Bone Spear because of the Bone Shield talent.
