EVERYTHING IS UNIQUE
Features;
Replace some enemies with powerful Randbosses. Enemies of a Unique rank or higher, who are given random class talents.
Every rank of enemies has their own tier of loot.
As you level up, you'll see more of these buggers walking around.
You spawn at level 12, and can level up to a maximum of 200.
Increase your rank as you slay your foes.
You can see your kill counts and your rank experience in the quest log.

EDIT: Alright, Thoughts after playing. First of all, please alter the label on the two version. If I want to play around with both, I can't determine which is the 'all enemies become bosses' and which is the 'only rares become bosses'.
Beyond that, This will make for a very interesting challenge mode game on the 'rares become bosses' version.
The 'all bosses' version? (Boss rush? Boss Butch?)
Well... This is where things get fun. I believe you can actually speedrun the game in this. Spawn, travel to Derth. Drown everything. Do arena quest. Travel to last hope. Drown everything. Travel to derth to spawn the storm elementals. Exit and travel to Zigur (if not magical). Drown everything. Do antimagic/fungus quests if desired. Head to dreadfell, and stomp through it at equal level with the enemies. Congratulations, first half of the game done in under an hour. Now you can head on to the more difficult (yet fun) second half, and face a real challenge there. For that matter, after dreadfell, you should have both Sludgenest and Caldera if you got them on character birth. Easy 50 before high peak, and by the time you've done 2 towns you should be kitted in a full set of orange/yellows.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing (speedruns!) or a bad thing (Bit unbalancing.) I leave it to an insane player to try the speedrun to it's fullest completion. I dread the thought of high peak on this. Late game will be... rough. Very.

I've been trying out the "Normal Rare Spawn Rate" version.
The "regular" bosses (the Shade, Shardskin, etc.) seem tougher under this mod.
Also, it seems like Rares spawn from guarded chests instead of Bosses... the loot is certainly Rare loot.

after playing the rares -> unique one for a while, i have to say its not that difficult anymore and might actually make the game easier.
Sure, the uniques might hit like trucks and are tough as rocks, but when you get several mold / mouse / jelly bosses in a row, you just netted yourself massive XP and ridiculous loot for your level. Guaranteed artifact each kill? Well sure, why not.
Moving into t2s now, we'll see if anything changes. T1s were more of a breeze than normal though, my gear well outleveled any opponent I would face there.

Chests use a different way to choose their rank.
New Good day to Die Edition version uploaded. Town NPC's removed.
New Dancing On Needles Edition released. Increased spawn rates, but not every single enemy. Also has removed town NPC's.

This seems generally true, that giving more XP makes the t1 fights more rewarding, but I've run into several 2 to 3 boss clusters which kicked my ass even in the t1 dungeons, not to mention the big open Daikara volcano end.
If you're playing a high-mobility class with an ability to long-range kite, even these may be solvable, but for other classes they're a brick wall.

the dancing on needles edition of this addon is actually quite fun, especially for the infinite dungeon.
u will have much more randart drops, but every floor has like 4-7 boss/unique monsters and u will regularly have to handle two of them at once.
it seems to be compatible with most other addons and tome versions up to 1.10
clear recommendation for people looking for a semichallenge/more extreme tome(items and enemys) and late game fighting

How hard would it be to give everything +1 player class, much like current rares, but without the extra drops or restrictions? (e.g. fighting an Archmage/Prox, or a Reaver/Master). There may need to be some sanity checks for equipment, but it could be fun...

I am unsure... this addon was extremely simple to make, modifying just a few lines, and that sounds like changing how the game generates in defined npcs.
I'll take a look at it next weekend I suppose, but being the holidays, I'm too lazy to look into it right now.

Also star, you planning to upload it to steam workshop?

Might get a couple of the new load of people to try it out and find out what a blast it is to get punched into the ground by running into a room of 9 bosses.

An addon's an addon. :3 And it changes the game in a significant way, so I'd say it is worth and upload.

We'd* all be very grateful. It just isn't the same when you aren't fighting elites.

This addon still works 100% fine with the current version of ToME.
I didn't update, as it didn't require it, and I'm sorry for not confirming that.
