[1.0.4] Misc Objects Addon

An addon for bringing some more objects into the game, at present this addon has:

- Shortstaves (1h staves for freaky builds, like... Reavers, hehe)
- Whips (and I mean non artifact ones)
- Rapiers (swords with low crit chance and high APR, they run on Cun/Dex and require Dagger mastery instead of Weapons mastery... broken much? :lol: ) (they're meant to go with a class that's in planning phase right now)
- Some pretty hidden and hard to track LUA bugs with regards to randart tables and stuff like that :lol:

Coming soon: (I guess)

- A scroll that grants Exotic weapons mastery on use
- Blade of the Scoundrel (artifact Rapier)
- Probably more artifacts
- A new (secret) item type for the off-hand
- Eh.... I forgot what else

So noticed two things.

First: After learning exotic weapon mastery from a warrior escort, it appeared on the combat training list, trailing off to the point where you can only see a 4th of it. Never learnt it before, so not sure if thats Vanilla, or from you.

Second: It didn't validate for some reason.

Never took exotic mastery in the game, I had no reason to in vanilla and never had a chance with this addon on... I didn't change any code that could affect it tho, so I guess it's a bug and it's better if you report it :wink:

About validating... I'm wrapping my head around it and... after a couple of hours I'm still sure that there's no reason for it not validating so... ToME hates me. :cry:

That's vanilla, not his addon. Happened to me before. It's likely a result of your resolution size, and the length apportioned to the class column, compared to generic column. A widescreen resolution might well fix it, or maybe it's just a bug in the code. Thankfully, you can see enough to put points in it, but it's still annoying.

I often run solipsist with offhand living shield or shield of resilience. can you design an offhand mindstar shield, with high hp, def, arm, but contributes as a mindstar?

Artifact? Sure, no biggie, sounds like a cool idea, I'll toy with the concept a bit... will try not to make it astonishingly overpowered tho :lol:

Well, I play in 1600/900, so I dunno if that qualifies as widescreen.


Just tried out dual-Whipping for the first time. Twas kinky.

Hehehehe, it's pretty nice... dual-wielding for 80% attack speed... and Flurrying at the same time :D

graphics conflict when running with Sagecrins equipment tweaks, had to disable. Was making all toons hands and faces disappear.

Hangs at 100% when attempting to start a new character with Infinite500 turned on. Just those two addons create the conflict, with nothing else active. Log attached. (It cuts off unexpectedly with a partial word. That's as far as it gets.)

Hmm... I don't get any notifications about this thread... oh well, better late than never.

I honestly don't know what may cause it, there's no new graphics in this addon. No errors? Does the log say anything relevant?

Same here, they shouldn't conflict, log says nothing that may help me pinpoint the issue. Will try to see what's causing this.

Something not mentioned in the first post (related to the lua error that says something about randart generation of shortstaves), receiving this error when first entering a zone, seems to cause the next area of the zone to misplace you multiple floors. This has occured numerous times, both in the main campaign (typically in trollmire) and in the ID, where I moved from my starting floor with a lua error about a randart staff, to floor 51, with absolutely no chance of survival. In trollmire, it typically drops you around a Dungeon level in the mid 20's/30's.

If you could track down and fix this, it would be hugely appreciated, given the uniqueness and appreciation of rapiers/shortstaves/whips that can actually be used. (And we still want that yet-to-be-released bard class for the rapiers!)

Iirc there's gonna be a "short" staff ego in 1.0.5, so I'm probably gonna scrap shortstaves as soon as the next version's available. I'm on "vacation" as of now tho so I'm not really gonna touch any code soon, sorry. :wink:
But... if you can post a screen or the content of that lua error here it's gonna make bughunting way easier and I could try to fix it soon-ish :D
