[v1.0.3] Unofficial Mod Update Thread

I have made this thread for unofficial mod updates. I cannot play with them without the md5 hash being registered, so I'm making this (And a series of addons for the site, which will be deleted once officially updated). I can and will remove your mod if you don't want me updating it; I did not see any rules on this, and I will be linking to the many original mod threads in this.

I was wondering what the rules for things like this are since some nice addons (ie spellsword) are left unfinished when the original developers disappear ;/

Why can't you play them without the md5 being validated?
Is there anything wrong with the addons that needs updating?

Starting from 1.0.3 addons should still work even if they were made for 100 or 101 (well unless the addon was doing nasty things obviously, but jsut the version change shouldnt break it anymore)

Really? It played fine after I made it show in game options, but it kept giving "Invalid addon version", and wouldn't upload my characters. It doesn't appear to do anything malicious. Should I be alarmed?

Check the logfile it should tell you which addon is rejected

Yes, I just tested with the version I didn't update. Without changing the "GameOptions" file so generateList is generateListGameplay, the mod wont work as I can't change the settings for it.
However, once I do, I get
Code: Select all
"[LOG] #LIGHT_RED#Online profile disabled(switching to offline profile) due to bad game addon version [addon: opt_in_adventurers]."
in the log with it. When I uploaded with the new md5 (Assume it is new, anyways), to the new addon page I made in this thread, I do not get that error.
I am unsure if I maybe updated it wrong, somehow, but that's the issue I get.
Edit: Er, not just the md5, I had to change the short-name too to match the addon page.

Yeah, that's what surprised me about the new addons policy; this particular change will trip up any addon that adds game options, and I'd be amazed if this were the only backward-compatibility problem an addon is likely to trip on between even patch-level versions. [On the particular subject, darkgod, have you considered setting up a hook for adding game options, similar to what you have in the UseItemDialog? It'd make my life a little easier...

More immediately, though, I've pushed out a new version of Opt-In Adventurer Parties with the appropriate game option changes, so the unofficial version shouldn't be necessary anymore.

Yes, it seems so. I'll delete this thread/the addon now. Thanks!
Edit: can only delete addon, not thread sadly.
