Since it was really really easy, I made a quick addon that adds in exotic weapons that can drop normally.
If I understand the code, I set them to drop at the same rate as pickaxes, which seems about right.
If you have any suggestions or ideas for more artifacts or whatever be sure to let me know.

Is there any chance this will be updated to work for b42?

Added for b42. Also made them a bit more common.

This particular addon adds generic whips throughout the game. (Also some other stuff) and standard tridents already existed, though I think it made them marginally more common. Should do what you want. Though if Greyswandir did more then just add in the exotic weapons, then maybe it doesn't do everything he did.

Oh ok cool. It just says Auto:Incompatible in addon options, I thought it wouldn't work at all.

Errrr... My post appears to have borked up. It was supposed to have this link at the start:

That addon is more up to date, and adds whips throughout the game, along with shortstaves and rapiers. It's more up to date, though it does more then just whips. I'm not sure it adjusts the trident drop rates, though.
However, that said, THIS addon might still work if you change it from auto to manual:active. Greyswandir's other out of date addon (monk) does the same thing. It's a shame, both of these really ought to be updated, given the niches they fill.
