First win in the game ! Mindcaster-type Cornac Sollipsist

Finally ! After WAY too many close misses with a bunch of different combos, I finally found the one character I could save the world with. Took me 5 deaths (two fo which I could have avoided if I'd been more careful) so it's nowhere near Rogue-like, but hey, at least now I can try Madness and the Adventurer cheese.
Many thanks to Darkgod and all the other people who keep this game challenging and interesting. And curse you all for making my obssessive-competitive self need to come back and BEAT THE GAME !
I may write a guide about the build I used too - it overperformed on every count, far beyond my expectations. Wish me luck guys !
