The sad story of my bad damage output

So I'm playing a Thalore Bulwark lvl47. It's my first character to get near the end of the game, and I was proud of myself for getting such a capable character for once. The only downside was that I don't do a lot of base damage, but my talents and prodigies make up for that somewhat.

I rarely found any good 1H weapons, but eventually I fould this great random +30%ish crit chance longsword with competitive damage and a few other nice stats. So I transmuted my old one and ignored reams of weapons that were good but not as good.

So I'm grinding farportals to get to lvl 50 and I notice that I can't hurt some carrion worm masses with my sword. At all. "Strange," I thought, "I have stacked +%physical damage and +%physical resistance penetration, at the expense of other lovely things. My damage is not this bad!".

I looked in the combat log and found my character was doing "0 blight" damage every hit, and not even mentioning physical.

I was about to report a bug when I decided to just double check my items and... the sword did blight damage only. I killed the boss, transmuted the blight sword in disgust and put on the best waraxe I happened to be carrying from the farportal and then went back and checked all the shops. None had anything better.

So here I am, grinding farportals for a decent weapon as well as levels.

That is my sad story. I can't stop laughing. :)

At least you weren't fighting a Worm That Walks. You might have been doing zero damage, but that's better than healing your enemy with every blow.

Are you sure the worm mass wasn't running Unstoppable or similar? A blight-only sword isn't a bad thing anyway, as long as you have something else to fall back on for blight-resistant enemies. Though your phys pen doesn't help much.

Edit -- Nevermind, I was thinking of a different kind of worms.
