I Proudly present my first Mindstar Rogue winner, he is actually my first Athamon killer on nightmare too. :D

Was a very fun char, and not so hard to get started as you might think.
Later on it became one of the most durable toons i have played so far.
- Just run with 3 points in dagger mastery fluid till you feel comfortable and have the money to buy the mindstartree.
- i Might have gone fungus instead of poison, (bought at lvl 50) if i only had one decent regeneration infusion. actually i used the same healing infusion from lvl 15 to the end and an amulett and the mindstar skill for healing. Apart from that the skills are nearly optimized in my opinion.
-Fought the whole time with nature mindstars, because i couldnt find good equipment that improve mind dmg. and pen.
-i took steamroller as second prodigy, which provided a hell of fun. Its not useful in the endfight, so mental tyranny or superpower or some defensive prodigy is surely better.
- The endfight was quite easy, closed no portal, just burned them down with high dmg and speed.

Have fun folks and Hail to the Darkgod.

Wow, I'm impressed. I guess this is one of those unexpected combinations that turns out to be powerful. What persuaded you to try this?

Oh i had my first tries on a mindstar rogue 2 years ago i guess. I always liked the idea and i think you have a higher damage potential then the regular rogue. It was really hard at that time to get one running though. i wasnt able to finsih one even on normal difficulty.

in one of the last updates the dmg of the iron weapons was improved, and the rogue got the acrobatic tree. These changes made me roll one again now, because they help with the 2 problems a mindstar Rogue has: 1) surviving the first 15 lvls. 2) unlike a normal rogue, you have no useful defensevalue, so you need alternative ways to defend yourself.

The difficult part of the game are the first 20 lvls with this build, if you reach lvl 30 and play cautious you have nearly won.

The power of the build lies in its great defensive capability combined with enormous dmg potential:
DEFENSE:
- i had about 500 stamina at the end, so i could fight nearly endlessly
- the mindstartree for itself is just very powerful, you have a high dmg attack which heals you, a slow that needs no time to be used and the best of all Leaves Tide, which gave me 43% to dodge any attack and does some nice dmg too.
- combine Leaves Tide with duck and dodge from the halfling tree and trained reactions from the acrobatics and with a full will antimagic and you have a hell of defense.
If you take a harder hit, you get 50% evasion, 34%dmg reduce and possibly 50% resistance vs the element from antimagic, and then add 43% dodge frome leaves tide.
- oh and you have stealth too, so you take less ranged hits.

OFFENSE:
- this build combines max Stealth and lethality for 120% more dmg with crits with +81 physical power from wilful combat and 20% dmg from steamroller with lots of high dmg attacks:
-Windblade 320% dmg (absolutely overpowered prodigy in my opinion)
-Cripple 203% dmg and 60% slow
-Flurry 6 x 106%
-Natures equilibrium 382% with one hand and heal
-Whirlwind 156%

As Windblade, Rush (steamroller) and Natures equilibrium dont cost stamina you can fight effectivly very long and spend the stamina for buffs: (Which i did use before any serious fight)

BUFFS:
-Wilful Combat 81 PP
- Blinding Speed 55% global speed
- Momentum 49% combat speed
- Perfect strike 64 acc
- Leaves Tide

ok after this unintended and perhaps unwanted in depth analysis ;), lets just say that this was really great fun:)

Thanks, this explanation was great. I might roll a mindstar rogue of my own :D . I recently finished a mindslayer, so I'm pretty aware of the amazing potential of mindstars. However, I kind of don't get why you chose steamroller over mental tyranny...

I took steamroller just for the fun of rolling through some lvls ;)
Mental tyranny is surely the better choice, but i did not have mindequipment, or at least my naturedmg boost was so much higher that i just stuck with it....
Have fun with your Rogue:)
Feel free to share anything new about a mindstar rogue:)
