Six deaths, but I can see what I could have done different with each one. In Old Forest, I was instakilled from offscreen by a named Skirmisher at range 11 (or more) while resting. That one felt really unfair at the time, but if I was really on the ball, I would have popped up Arcane Eye to see if anyone was coming before resting. I had just cleared a small area and had probably stirred up nearby mobs. One death was a one-shot by a crystal after getting lazy with scouting. A couple were brain-farts.
Cauterize tripped 6 times during the main campaign (I can't count how many while fighting Atamathon). #6 didn't save me though, while I was fighting the mages. I was in a "stand my ground" mindset when I should have teleported away. All deaths but that last one were before getting prodigies. I knew that both Timeless and Draconic Will were good, but for whatever reason this was the first time I actually had the two at the same time. Cauterize has been my top choice for a while, but I'm going to have a hard time ever trying anything but DW for #2 while playing Shalore again.
I ran the circuit to close all the portals as soon as I hit the level, but Aeryn died while I was doing that. Elandar had decent healing and was a real pain. After returning from the E-plane I had fresh CDs, but forgot to pop Draconic Will before Timeless. Not happy, but I managed to finally take Elandar down. After that, Argoniel was pretty straight forward. In this particular case, I'm wondering if I would have been better off taking out Argoniel before Elandar.
Atamathon kept hitting me with disperse magic. I followed forger101's advice and teleported immediately after cauterize tripped, and sometimes just when CD's were an issue. I'd find a corner and pop Stone Wall once Ata came into charging range, usually trying to throw out an Inferno and fireball if I could before hiding. It became easier once he started having mana issues. No deaths there, thankfully.
Back when I was starting out, I never though I would get this far. I feel like a part of my brain has remapped itself and I have a hard time looking at other games the same way now.
