I've had a few more characters than the two, but I never really got into the game for more than a couple levels until a week or two ago. I have seen a fair bit of the game played by others, though. I unlocked so much stuff with this character that I was honestly just kind of hoping he'd die so I could play a different class. Summoner's passive playstyle seems a little boring to me.
Beat the boss by dashing around to the portals with a movement infusion, and then surrounding them each in turn with summons until they died. They spread so much darkness around the room that they couldn't even see me at the same time. Got killed trying Atamathon while he kept nuking my entire board. I'm not quite sure I understand the combat log in the game, since the damage he was listed as doing was less than half of what I was actually taking.
Also, I had the most ridiculous fight against the necromancer boss in the Slime Tunnels. It was just huge waves of summons against huge waves of undead for half an hour before he ran out of mana, and I was able to wear him down... Then he revived with full health and mana, but minus the 10 odd sustains he was previously maintaining, so it was much easier at that point.
