This character was doing really well. He was just in the middle of clearing out a vault full of giants in Daikara without breaking much of a sweat. Then his Eldritch Stone shield broke. More importantly his Stone Half and Crystaline Half had their shields break. Kaboom! The arcane explosions killed most of the remaining giants... and also killed Moe. I'm pretty annoyed about it. I had no idea that Eldritch Stone would cause friendly fire damage, and even less of an idea that the Halves would each get their own shield/explosion. It seems ridiculous that a Stone Warden damage shield talent, of all things, would be such a non-combo with another basic Stone Warden talent as to create a suicide bomb. I'm frustrated. Had to vent.

I feel you. I just had a Cauterize fail in the last level of high peak a few minutes ago, instamurdered due to some weird antimagic interaction. Cruelty the overpowered Necronomancer is dead so effing close to the end. All I had to do was walk to the portal and not be anal about clearing levels for artifacts. It tempts me to cheating, this kind of glitch. Full HP+ shields and sucked across the level into a demon pit for instadeath. RIP, my second winner. 5 Real time minutes from victory after 12+ hrs.

Edit: I killed all of the slime bosses and every stair boss handily as well.

Those deaths sound really painful.

What exactly happened to your necromancer? I'm afraid I don't entirely follow. Cauterize failed because of antimagic items? And what instakilled him?

There's some strange deaths going on. I had one on the first turn of Unstoppable in a previous run. I am now playing a necro as well, and like TheSlayer I went for Cauterize. We will see. I am not playing roguelike, but I have had no deaths yet and have made it as far as the spider dungeon on the east. Cleared all but one dreadfell vault and beat the ambush.

Dammit should have gone through the crowd and the gemsetting one.

And Cauterize just failed me. Description says it should block all damage for that turn, but it does not seem to be working like that.

You should definitely make a post in Bugs about it. I feel like I should make one for mine as well, but I don't know if it's intended behavior (In which case I guess I should post in suggestions?)
