That is, if I count right, my fifth roguelike winner, and definitely the strongest one (with exception of broken double shield prodigy Stone Warden, but nothing have chance to compare). Main reason for making this character was to check how good is Legacy of the Naloren. I killed the toon few times to force first escort to be Warrior to unlock Exotic weapon mastery, then counted on luck. And it really payed off, out of 9 escorts, 5 were warriors. I even had gear ready to swap to level it up manually (level 5 exotic require 40 Str AND 40 Dex) but it wasn't needed at all. I was also dancing with generics each level up so that I always could take them out from Weapon Mastery later.
Even with less-than-max points in Mastery, I still didn't have trouble with anything, nothing out of depth spawned, and only 'close to death' moments were at Master when I overstayed and got swarmed by his minions, and few turns after defeating Master while clearing rest of level (just regular enemies, but got Confused and failed to take action for 5 turns in a row, lived with like 10hp). In crypts, I was about turn too late to save Melinda, but at least I seen the demon for the first time. Then, as soon as I get to the East I rushed to Dragon/Naga caves.
What you don't see on char sheet, is that after picking prodigy while having 'maxed' Exotics, you still get those points, putting you at 10/5. It gives 160 physical power and 89% increased damage while using the trident (remember, it also have +0.3 Combat training bonus). With high Strength and Berserker, I immediately shot up to ** physical power, and pretty much blasted through anything game tried to throw at me with nearly triple the damage output I had before that.
At 42, I went offline to check the prodigies out. Superpower gave me about 10% extra damage (according to char sheet). Might Blow was quite nice, but it requires to have space between enemy and the wall for smash to happen, working all the time with positioning to use it wasn't fun. So I took Steamroller. Turns out, the description isn't as clear as it should be. I though to get damage boost, you have to kill marked enemy. What actually happens, is that you get this bonus (and stack it) each time you rush to any target. With Rush already on 1 turn CD, I didn't need to kill enemies, instead rushing EVERYTHING on the screen, stacking the buff up to 100%, then unleashing in one powerful Death Dance (coupled with Wrath of the Woods, managed to get the 3k in one swing achie by the end of the game).
With all of that, final fight was joke, when I just rushed between pair of magi, stacking up buff up to double damage, and hitting one or the other each second turn before switching targets again to refresh buff. I had to hide only once, since Dragon portal decided to spawn Multihued Wyrms, but beside that, fight went incredibly quickly.
Not tried Ata yet, I just know I'll just kill myself, not having means to disable that freaking Reflective skin.
Maybe I'll finally try some Nightmare now, hmm...
