I can't believe it. There has been no roguelike archer winner since b42 and I had the character to do it:

But I foolishly went for one more trip in the far portal, and encountered a patchwork troll from hell. I was dead before I could do anything.
My archer, a slinger, had 70-90% resistance penetration, about 190% crit multiplier (100% crit on Aim), and about 80-95% damage multiplier. And huge resists. I was doing 3000 dmg per shot with vital shot, 1500 for regular steady shot.
I was scumming far portal for gear (which I didn't actually need!), before going to high peak via eruan.
I'm kicking myself as this character finally had what it takes to win on roguelike.
She was so good that I had an unused talent point, about 9 class points, and 6 generics. I was waiting to lvl 50 to see what to spend it one. And I had a spare prodigy, as I was working to get Garkul's thingy, to tackle atamataton.
aarrrrgggghhhhh !!!!
back to the drawing boards....
(btw, I think slingers are much better than archers, as the offhand dagger/mindstar provides awesome improvements to damage/protection etc.)
