Alchemists are notorious for being easy to play, and after winning with this character I can see how they gained that reputation.

Started out pumping cold damage to try and unlock the ice tree, then switched to fire after completing the unlock and picking up several nice fire-related items. Meteor rain was absolutely godly, especially when paired with the artifact helm that lets you cast it twice in succession before it needs to cool down.

Was rather annoyed by the selection of escorts I received. 5 sun paladins! Sure I was able to bring chant of fortress to 5/5, but I'd have really preferred to have been able to pick up premonition or some more warrior generics. Physical status conditions were a severe annoyance for me throughout the game.

After struggling through the first half of the final battle (and losing my first life) I expected Atamathon to be a grueling and dangerous ordeal on par with the room of overpowered prismatic wyrms. (I shudder to recall the way they liked to blind me for 20+ turns, but judicious use of bombs, heroism infusions, golems, and teleportation were able to turn the tide in my favor)

Imagine my surprise when I slot the ruby eye into its socket and Atamathon proceeds to do absolutely nothing to damage my character. My faithful golem died in just a couple hits so I know he was dealing large amounts of damage. Trouble was, my fire resist was through the roof and the fiery choker was able to heal me for 30% of the fire damage I received. I tossed 3 meteor storms his way in quick succession, along with a few bombs and staff blasts. In the end when he had only a small sliver of health left I activated the awakened staff of absorption to finish him off.

It was a good learning experience and hopefully will help better prepare me for less... overpowered characters attempting to win the game.
