Died once... I think it was in Dreadfell. I might be mixing up my characters though.
I completely ignored stealth, in favor of stabbing, and mobility, and more stabbing. Took Giant Leap at level 30, and Arcane Might at level 42. Mostly, I selected talents and equipment for defense, saves, stats, physical power, physical crit chance, crit multiplier or accuracy.
I turned off Shadow Combat once I got Essence of Speed going, because it kept draining all my mana, which would bring down my other sustains. But I used it through the early-to-mid game.
My typical mid-to-late game combat went something like: shield rune, Shadowstep or Giant Leap (depending on whether I have unblocked line of leaping to a target tile near the victim), Deadly Strikes if it's still alive, Rush or Shadowstep or Giant Leap to the next victim (if there's a group of victims with an empty tile near them, prefer Giant Leap so I kill 3+ enemies at once), finish off stragglers, rest.
For the final battle, I Shadowstepped to the magey one and poured some pain into him while Aeryn walked toward the fightery one in slow motion. After a few rounds, with the magey one stunned, I movement-infused over to help with the fightery one, and we beat on him for a while. Retreated south to recover life and cooldowns halfway through, then back up to finish off the fightery one with Aeryn's help. Then we finished off the magey one. World saved, go us.
