Character sheet
Yeah, I died quite a few times. Still, PSIBLADES CURSED! Don't make a psiblades cursed.
Beat the ambush (twice, due to bugs) and cleared the Room of Death.
This character was ridiculously bug-ridden. In no particular order:
1. Two separate kinds of saving bugs (each one many, many times)
2. A bug that made the game forget explored levels (this one fired twice, costing me my Sher'tul stash each time)
3. Various bugs that prevented levels from generating and necessitated killing the process
4. Two freezes that prevented killing the process and necessitated a system reboot
5. The infamous clone bug
6. The game froze during the creation of the portal back to the Far East and when I restarted it Tannen was still in his house and I could either have given him the items or accused him of being a twat. I chose the latter and reentered a completely empty tower
7. My offhand weapon did half the damage it was supposed to
8. So many others
Regarding the psiblades, yeah, they were kind of underwhelming. The problem is that they get the worst of both worlds - they don't benefit from physical damage boni (which are more common on most equipment than mental damage) but they also don't benefit from mental crit chance.
Another thing that I experimented with, which I don't think too many people are doing right now, was the Fears tree. It's great when it works - it helped me beat the ambush, in fact, since paranoia spreads like wildfire in a dense mass of melee fighters - but I barely used it after the novelty wore off. A lot of enemies are immune, and even for the ones that aren't, it's very situational. Given the difficulties involved in managing hate as Cursed, I would generally rather save my 8 hate for something that doesn't involve rolling the dice on a 1 in 4 chance of getting something useful (which becomes 1 in 6 if you take the third tree).
