ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Alas Bobafet was too brave, and after progressing splendidly well through the starting areas, the maze, the forest, daikara and the sandworm lair he came unstuck on level 4 of dreadfall. Specifically by an unseen foe that cursed him into oblivion before he knew what had hit him.

As far as bosses went, the daikara boss was probably the hardest due to it's icy skin. The weirdling beast was a 20 minute slugfest including a trip back to town to buy better gloves in the hopes of pummelling it enough before it set off a heal or regen.

Dreads are just nasty :/

More points in Uppercut would have helped with the Wierdling Beast. Not much you can do about Icy Skin but Cold Resist artifacts are prevalent early game anyway.

Next time you could try grappling. It sounds like you mostly had issues with bosses and grappling is grade A when it comes to murdering single targets. To bad Horrors don't breath, strangling the Weirdling Beast would probably be really satisfying.
