UPDATE: Cornad is gone, due to a bug. R.I.P :(

Conrad is my 1st Paradox Mage:

This class is pretty fun! I love all the battlefield-control spells, especially Gravity Spike. Making a master archer kill itself with its own arrows never gets old. :D

Conrad is doing pretty well. I only had one close call and that was due to a spell backfiring on me, before I had any access to teleportation. For some reason I can't find the Hidden Compound and Ancient Elven Ruins after exploring the entire map. Anyway, after clearing all the dungeons, except the Rift, I headed to Dreadfell.

I defeated the Master at level 26 after a grueling battle, which involved a lot of running. Unlike Archmages, Paradox Mages can't keep up the offense, due to long cool downs for most of their talents. After defeating the Master I got my butt kicked in the ambush.

Then, I decided to finally attempt the Temporal Rift quest. I didn't encounter my future self, so I only had to worry about the elementals. The quest was much easier than I expected. I mainly avoided the elementals, while hunting down and killing the bosses. I used wands to deal with the elementals I couldn't avoid.

The rift rune is very nice. Although, it still fully heals your enemies if they survive the damage. I managed to defeat the Reknor boss and his entourage without taking any damage. And I curb stomped the orc greeting me in the far east. Hopefully, Conrad can keep it up against the tougher bosses.

Most notable moment:

- The Grand Corrupter kept targeting trees (and hurting himself), while my elder vampire pummeled him. Needless to say, that was the easiest battle I ever had.

I have a question. Does metaflow work on chronomancy talents?

Edit: Yeah, it does!

I somehow feel that paradox mages who die due to bugs are bringing the world more in balance ... seems the right way to go for a paradox mage.

The game drops me in the middle of the sea whenever I enter the wilderness in the Far East.
