Well, I finally was able to take down the evil that lurks within. Grunik, my Berserker dwarf ascended to the top, and gave his life to seal the portals. I left a few quests on the table, but that was only because I didn't realize that entering the last dungeon was a one way ticket. I had planned to go back to the west, but just didn't get a chance to. I popped lvl 50 taking down the first mage. Probably the only reason I survived the battle with the second one.
