I was wondering if there was a place to download just the engine?

I know you can get it as part of the full tome download, but that seems like it would be a rather large dependency if you wanted to create your own game with the T-Engine.

I don't know of any place where you can download the standalone engine.

You can, however, create a standalone release of your module. Download ToME, delete tome-*.team (which are what make the download so large), add your own module, and zip up and post the result.

Well that is sort of my point. If you ever want to update the engine for your game, there is no simple way to do it. If you don't want to include the engine with your game, you must say "Go here, download their game, delete the library, copy and paste like so."

Now this may be by design, they want to force people to download their game (rather then just the engine), but it greatly reduces the likely hood others will use the engine for another game. Obviously, others do use it, but probably not as many as there could be.

It... Probably wouldn't be all that difficult to add a standalone download for just the engine... And I suppose it would make it more direct to access the engine itself.

That would be a very good thing.
