Using spritesheets in modules

I was looking at purchasing the latest Oryx tileset:

But it comes in tilesheets, not separate images. Can the engine manage that directly, or do I need to find a way to split the images up?

I added preliminary support for it a long time ago but it was never used, so for now splitting would be better.
Any decent image batch manipulator can do that
