[1.7.4] ID Exterminator quest sometimes gets stuck

Couple of times now got into a state where I have killed everything but dont get the reward, it also doesnt fail when moving to the next level once in this state.
not 100% sure but I think each time i've fought a shadow simulacrum clone so it could be this interfering with the quest?

I also have been getting issues with the extermination quest. Sometimes I have experienced what jk describes in the initial post. Other times, the journal says that I still have one or two left, but I am unable to find them, even after digging out the entire level and searching everywhere with track. In those instances it fails upon taking the stairs.

In retrospect, I bet there were hidden enemies outside of my detection range in the later instances.

[1.7.6] now
I still experience the same issue. I've backed up a charball in the error state on the same level if that is helpful.
