ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I have heard really great things about ToME and I bought it on GOG. I was having a good time initially, until I hit some kind of terminal bug that froze the whole game. I killed the process and tried to start it again. But when I did so, I got nothing but a blank screen! I really want to play this game that I've heard so many good things about but I don't know where to go from here. I can give you any diagnostic data you need but to start with, the platform in question is 32-bit Intel and I'm running Linux.

What is your game version ? 1.5.7? I sent 1.5.8 to GOG not sure if they published it yet.
This sounds like that 1.5.7 bug at least. Note that 1.5.8 will prevent it happening again nto fix it.

Can you post me the savefile somewhere so I can have a look please?
It lives in /home/<yourname>/.t-engine/4.0/tome/save/<yourcharacter>/
Zip it all up and post it somewhere
