ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I have cleared the second floor of High Peak. There is a dead boss that is stuck on the stairs to exit the level. It does not attack or do anything. If I attack it from the north, animations occur a few squares to the south of the boss. From any other direction nothing happens. Is this a glitch or something I need to figure out to progress to the next level. Its my first character to get this far and I am completely stuck on this floor.

That sounds like a glitch. Any way you could use knockback on it to move it?

Knock back does not work.
