I can't find Agrimley the Hermit :(

I've explored the whole map. I must not have stepped on his specific square though... can anyone tell me how to narrow it down so I don't spend forever walking over every square of the map again?

Sometimes I have the same problem and can't find him anywhere, too.. so I'd like to know this too.

If it helps, the places where I do often find the Hermit (and which I always check):

- just east of Daikara
- north of the sandworm lair
- in the far north, the part of the map you have to reach through snow (look in the valleys between the mountains)
- In the small stream near the teleporter to the fortress, or the small valley near it.

You have to be quite close to him before you see him.

Aha he was on the coast east of Last Hope, thanks!

I had forgotten that he actually shows up on the map; I was going and walking over a ton of tiles thinking it was kind of like the hidden trap door thing, where it will just pop up on some square.

I just auto-explore in order to find him. Never had any issues apart from triggering events I'd rather have waited with

That's a good one.

I use zOmnibus (http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/zomnibus-addon-pack) for the "Go To Landmark" feature, which allows you to auto-find stuff like:
- unopened glowing chests
- undesecrated graves
- that hermit guy
- any side-dungeons
- the other other exit (auto-explore won't find both exists if there's a side-dungeon exit on the level)
