ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I'm new to Tome4, so I apologize if the answer to this should be obvious.

I'm seeing some rooms in the Old Forest areas (2 and 3) that are visible, and I can see treasure in them, but I can't figure out how to get into the rooms.

No door, digging doesn't work, phase door and gem portal have no effect. Randomly trying to walk into the walls doesn't work either.

Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is what you meant by dig not working, but did you check every wall? Hovering over a tile can tell you whether it's diggable and a lot of vaults have side-rooms that are only reachable by a single diggable square. I don't think there are any non-diggable squares in Old Forest by default, so I'm assuming you're seeing a vault. If that doesn't help, can you upload a screenshot?

It is probably a vault. Try to look for a tile with a stone, you might be able to move it to get there.

Unfortunately certain vaults screw with you by basically making a wall of 3-5 blocks in which only one block is actually diggable. I am not a fan of this as once you know the trick it is kind of tedious. Its essentially kind of like a "secret door" except you dig instead and you find them by just mousing over everything (that is the tedious part).
