ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

After beating Golbug he didn't drop the Orb of Many ways. The messenger appeared as normal though. If it makes a difference when fighting the master I (painful to admit) got a little too frustrated and used the remove all monsters cheat. Upon realizing that I won't get the staff I used summon monster to bring him back and then managed to kill him with changing strategies a bit. He didn't drop the staff but I used the cheat engine to give me the staff quest and that worked so I got the ambush afterwards. If all that couldn't have affected it what can I do?

Im no expert but it sounds like you cheated your way out of the orb!

You're not the first person to lose the Orb (see here). I'm not sure if your cheating is to blame (though I doubt it), but if you've already invalidated the save, you might as well cheat it into your inventory.

While it's possible that in your case cheating was the reason of the lack of orb if you deleted the boss (and then probably his inventory that is supposed to include the orb) and respawned him, were you playing by any chance a human/elf sun paladin/anorithil ?

I have never used dev mode before and ran afoul of this with a Thaloren Sun Paladin I'd managed to get to level 33 before going back East.

Gutted! And don't want to invalidate my save. Tried to raise a ticket for a bugfix, but the form errored.

Any other ideas?

ZorinAlvien - Try to open a ticket again. What error were you getting? If it's a problem with attaching the save then just upload it elsewhere and link it in the ticket.

Tried again, error message when I try to lodge a ticket is:

Forbidden

You don' have permission to access /ticket/open.php on this server

Additionally a 403 Forbidden error was encountered when trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I though this might have come up because I didn't have a logon so I created one, but this didn't change the message...
