ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I just killed Celia, but cannot complete the quest to get lichform. Do you have to physically find the "How to.." guides with each individual character? I checked the library in the fortress before heading to Last Hope Graveyard, and all four were listed under Known Lore. Suspecting something might go awry, I made a duplicate save before entering, so I can redeem the character...assuming the entire issue isn't a question of a special flag assigned to the necromancer class itself rather than to the talent tree. I'm an adventurer, so I'm picking up the talent on the sly, so to speak.

The How to Be a Necromancer lore is just for unlocking Necromancers, not Lichform. Did you activate Blurred Mortality at least once for the From Death, Life quest to start?

Also, you're not already undead, are you?

It's been so long since I last went lich -- since, in the balance, I think you're better off just starting with an undead -- that I got confused, re Necromancer lore. Memory, it's not me strength. At least I did remember you can't do it with an undead.

But I went and tried it again and it worked. Weird. Must have been a glitch. Thanks for the help anyway.
