I'd like to do the Sher'Tul fortress quest. But I haven't found any magic items that increase the length of time you can hold your breath, or give you a 'water breathing' ability. I saw a note in the forest before hand that mentioned someone in derth that could do ths, but I have not found them.

You don't need them--the dungeon provides some spots with bubbles that will give you oxygen. They can be exhausted but overall it's not usually a huge problem. If you do eventually find an item that provides water breathing, though, you might still want to hang on to it.

When they are exhausted they pop elsewhere on the map, so you can never run out of bubbles.

Cool, thank you. I'll give it a try.

Heh, there's always something new to learn.

Indeed.
Besides, I have a run during which I didn't find any water-breathing granting item after having cleared every possible place before Dreadfell besides Lake of Nur... Eventually, I went to check the jewel maker shop in Angolwen and there it was, a nice 'of the fish' golden amulet which I bought right away. I've also been told that often 'of the fish' or 'of the deep' items may be found randomly in other shops.
Didn't know about the bubbles respawning...
Cheers!
