Doomed class questions

I suppose this isn't actually spoilery beyond being a non-base class but better safe than warned...

I have a number of questions about how the doomed class's effects work and interact. They are mostly unrelated so I'll just make a list.
Do shadows killing things proc unnatural body healing?
Do shadows get +damage from attacking things in your darkness (and/or +crit damage, though that is less important)?
On gesture of pain, what does 'can cause critical hits with cross-tier effects' mean? does the +crit damage from the force of will tree somehow apply to these effects (and do the trees synergize in general)?
Does Feed Power enhance Gesture of Pain damage or have no effect?
How does wielding mindstars effect GoP exactly? all the damage(which is a range) and crit%(individually) of them are added or just whatever number it shows in the skill (1 set damage and both crit%s added?)?
Am I right in thinking most every tree in this class synergize fairly well except shadows? They seem really fun, but everywhere else I'm seeing various effect that enhance melee ability or crit or your damage all in way that work, and none of it seems to help shadows (which I'd really like to use)...

Edit: Are shadows completely useless before getting Focus? They wander aimlessly and never attack anything even if I'm fighting. WTF.

+crit dmg from force of will is flat crit dmg and affects all of your crits from anything
feed power enhances all of your damage as far as I'm aware
mindstars have 0 effect on GoP other than boosting your mind power/stats which boost GoP (but it does require at least 1 to be used)

all I know, sorry

The last line of GoP reads "Mindstars bonuses from damage and physical criticals (+5 damage, +5 critical chance)" Which is so grammatically incorrect and ambiguous I have no idea what it means, but the numbers are tied to my equipped 'stars.
The damage is about average of them combined and the crit is the exact addition of each's chance (2.5% each), and unequipping one changes it as expected. What those numbers mean in relation to the skill, however, I have no firm idea.

oh my bad then, I suppose the most sense would be GoP getting that bonus then as buffing mindstars would be completely pointless with GoP

Nope.
Do shadows get +damage from attacking things in your darkness (and/or +crit damage, though that is less important)?

I'm pretty sure not, and nope.
On gesture of pain, what does 'can cause critical hits with cross-tier effects' mean? does the +crit damage from the force of will tree somehow apply to these effects (and do the trees synergize in general)?
That's probably supposed to be "can cause cross-tier effects on critical hits" or something. Which means it can brainlock. The +crit from Force of Will tree applies to all criticals you do ever.
Does Feed Power enhance Gesture of Pain damage or have no effect?
Feed Power just gives you a flat +all damage% boost.
How does wielding mindstars effect GoP exactly? all the damage(which is a range) and crit%(individually) of them are added or just whatever number it shows in the skill (1 set damage and both crit%s added?)?
Gesture of Pain does damage based on mindpower. I think that your mindstars' tiers are also used as an additional scaling factor, kind of like alchemist gems for bombs.

Shadows, initially, are basically a distraction for your enemies to chase. Once you get 5/5 Call Shadows and 4/5 Shadow Mages they turn into a roving death squad, and as you boost Shadow Warriors they become harder to kill. Putting a category point into the tree gets you up to 4 shadows.

i think that shadows become more aggresive once you get the shadow warrior skill, and as phantomglider said, once you upgrade the shadows enough they become a roving death squad, i recall once killing several pride bosses without doing anything, just leaving my shadows to play with them (and using my harmless feed for infinite shadow fuel (aka hate))

they seem to occasionally have moments of genius, teleporting out, healing and jumping back in

Hey, the shadows are products of your madness. Don't expect them to be any saner than you are...
