ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

So I'm in the second area. I've explored the whole area and I seem to have cleared it of enemies. I've been fussing with the dream altar but so far nothing seems to be happening. Can anyone tell me how to finish this off? I wouldn't ask but I'm getting pretty tired of repeating the dream of loss.

There's another dream that you get randomly - I think you need to finish both. Just keep trying, I guess.

You mean the mouse dream? I got that one first actually. Unless there's a third dream I'm not sure what's going on with this. I think I've used the altar at least a dozen times by now.

Edit: Just got the mouse dream 4 times in a row. Still nothing.

What level are you supposed to do that at? I went in at level twenty and got the "your heart is pounding" message.
