Okay, so this time, thought I'd go along with the Grand Corruptor since I'm a skeleton reaver and that seems reasonablt to my character. But, somehow, all the Corruptor guys turned hostile towards me. I know I didn't do anybody any damage, though maybe somebody moved in front of a Drain missile. And now when I die, I have no choice but to go back. So my game is over. Can I say, this is total BS. In two ways. 1st, when monsters damage each other "accidentally", they don't turn hostile towards each other, so why should PC friendlies turn hostile from anything less than a confirmed direct targeted attack? Friendly fire, not intentional, come on! 2nd, I'm not in the void plane or any other weird place, so why can't I upon death get sent back to the world map outside Spellbaze in this case?

Hate pointless deaths.

Edit: okay, so I survived. Killed the main anti-magic guy, exited to world map (which took me to Spellblaze entrance.) Went back in to Spellblaze, and now everybody that I didn't kill is friendly to me there. With no way to piss the grand Corrupter off or damage him. And I didn't get any reward/unlocks for killing the main anti-magic halfling guy. So, I guess I'm saying, this whole sequence in the game needs to be better thought out. The way I just went through it is lame and both unsatisfying and unrewarding. And still pointlessely minus a life.

You're not part of his group. It would make parts of the game too easy. For example, almost everyone in the dark crypt used to be friendly to you if you were a rhaloren, which trivialized the place.

Monsters will switch targets, if they keep getting hit accidentally.

I was talking about once teleported into Ziguranth town. For some reason after like 2 turns all the corruptor guys starting attacking me. I'll have to try again with another character, since I expect I'm supposed to be able to fight with their help to kill all the anti-magic guys and as a reward get the corrupter class unlocked.

Heh, at least you were killed fair and square. When I took my corruptor to face the Grand Corruptor, he took us both to the fearscape. I had demon form active, so the flames of the fearscape healed me for something like 127hp per turn rather than hurting me. Problem was, the Grand Corruptor also had demon form active, thus making him practically invulnerable to my attacks. I spent the better part of half an hour trying to come up with some way of hurting him faster than he could regen, but to no avail.

I eventually called it quits and deactivated demon form, letting him kill me quickly.

Didn't you have a staff of ruination to dispel his demon form...?

...D'oh! >_<

Yes, corrupted negation, of course! How could I have overlooked the possibility of re-allocating a few points to learn that skill?
