ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I know this kind of thing pops up from time to time, but I didn't find the lore that leads to Bill's treasure. Does this ever show up outside of the Trollmire?

I don't see any off-limits areas or vaults or anything. Does the Bill's treasure quest always show up?

Are there any areas that you haven't explored, including fully enclosed areas behind trees (on any of the levels)? It is most likely that the lore is hiding there (if it exists).

If you are missing just one lore piece it would be on:
lvl 1 (for piece 1)
lvl 2 (for pieces 2 and 3), or
lvl 3 (for piece 4, and Prox drops piece 5)

You can see all the lore you have collected through the "esc" menu.

Here's what I've learned.

The lore for Bill only appears after the other have been found.

There weren't any hidden areas on the 3rd level of Trollmire, but there was an off limits area where lore n was found. (Don't remember which.)

When I found the missing lore and then returned to 3 I found the path immediately.

I'm pretty sure this is what lukep was trying to tell me, but I've restated the facts for the benefit of the thick.

(Some people might not call this thread spoiled and it might have been better placed in general. I'm trying to stay pretty hard-core unspoiled so I thought maybe talking about how to get to bill might count.)

The lore can be found in any order, but you need to find them all to get the message for Bill's lair.

I have seen lore located in inaccessible squares, so sometimes you have to "mine" a few trees; which could be a pain at low level if you haven't found a digging method

Using a phase door rune a gazillion times will get you to the spot.. eventually.

Of course, there was this one time when Bill's lore went missing and I wasn't able to find it even after chopping the entire forest down and scouring all three levels... But usually when it goes missing it's just a matter of hacking away at the nearest clump of undiscovered map behind the trees.
