ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

Hi, I just wanted to ask:

I've used the swirling Sher'Tul farportal thing a lot (8-9 times or so), and all it seemed to do was port me to some randomly generated place with random music and random bosses with random loot. Was fun for a while, but got kinda repetitive. So I wonder if is there a chance of actually landing somewhere unique, like a cool location with some big bad boss?

There is a unique lore-based encounter that has a small chance of appearing. However the main point of the farportal is to take you to random dungeons with random bosses and a randart rewards.
