Hello.

Encountered Yet Another Portal Less Far Portal.

This time it was Fuludevor. A Trollmire like forest, but with The Maze code.
At lvl 2 I met this annoying creature with 100% resists and a lot of hp and tentacles.
After killing the beast I went looking around and now I can not find the portal anymore and I belive it never was created.
Thiz maze is diggable, and soon I dug out half the forest and lit it up with The Phial.

Why not just let the Rod of Recall work?

He was found. But when he was killed there was no portal under the remains.

Are you sure that was the boss, and not a random unique that happened to spawn in the level? Sounds like one to me, with its spawning tentacles.

Yeah, that sounds like good ol' Grrrrglck the horror boss. REAL annoying fight.

yesterday i visited a far portal first time and had almost the same problem. i killed the final boss - an unique bloated horror and no stairs or something appeared. i cleared the whole level, then i remembered, when i stayed on the tile where the boss was slain my minimap was pink (?), i hardly found the spot (it wasn't marked at all and i picked/transmogrified all loot) and it was the back portal. i visited far portals only once, so maybe it's normal but non-marked portals, it seems to be strange for me

No, I am not.
And the other half of the forest I did not explore as there is a Headless Horror.
Im an idiot. I bet the boss lurks there.
