Hello.

I try to help the various alchemists in the game.
Found four of them so far.
But some of the ingredienses are unknown to me.

Now Im looking for a mummified bone. Where and what aproximate lvl is needed?
Also a red crystal shard is questionable as I cleared the shard cave.

Tom, looking forward to be *spoiled*

Red crystal shards appear in the shimmering caves only, and i don't know if it respawns after returning fom the east.
Mummified bones drop from any mummy, and if you really want one just head to the ancient elven ruins, although I'd be very careful there.

Red crystal shards ONLY in the shimmering caves?
Now that is tough for those who start there.
Maybe they can save one of the red kind and head on. *silly me who took them all out*

Careful in ancient elven ruins means roughly what lvl?
Im 21 now.

Lvl 21 sounds a bit low, but if you want to try you can step in wander around on the first level. The boss is really hard though if you can do lots of fire damage his wrappings aren't too fond of it. Also some see invis is very helpful.

Lvl 25+ is what I'd suggest but some classes could do well earlier.

Now that things don't respawn some of the ingredients are going to be really tough to get.

Obviously Im screwed with the red crystal.
I also took out Old Forest before I got an ice ant part.
Luckily one of those ants showed up in the Maze.

If I run into one of those half opened ruins in Trollmire with a tree in the middle, I always leave that tree alone.
Just in case.

A bit... you can finish them... you just won't get your first choices.

I would say it matters a lot if those <reward> helps you in the game.
The reward is pretty good IMO.

I think the rewards should be scaled back to make them less of a "must-have". At the moment they can seriously increase your character's power. If they were only minor effects then they'd be more for completionists than for every player.

Personally I like the idea that you must choose.

I tested to go to all 4 Alchemists the first thing I did.
Unfortunately, that triggered the Assasin Lord Task.

New game, Troll Mire + Shade (who is a tough nut to crack in b26b for a rogue at lvl 7 or 8 ).
Hmm, that might not be enough to kill the assasin before he kills the merchant.
But if one runs to Old Forest, that might interupt a Alchemist Task.

Such path choosing is very good IMO.
You can not have them all, you must pick one (unless you are lucky).
Which path is best for you and your playing style?
Which path is best for this character you play?

For those who are familiar with ADOM also knows how important time is in that game.
There you must carefully prepare the order for everything before day 90 is there. After day 90 a serious negative effect set in.
Perhaps something similar here would be nice, but I can not tell for sure yet as I havent made half way through the game yet.

Screw the merchant. One more store? 8 gold pieces? Pah!

That store sells good stuff.
I found Moon in it together with some very, for the middle game, armours.

Don't the orbs at the dungeon that unlocks the Infinite Dungeon spawn all kinds of monsters, including shards, when pressed in the wrong order?
