Which quest next & how?

I've been trying to do the Sandworm Lair and keep smothering to death. Do I need some item to survive like the 'breath underwater' hat? Faster dex? Dig my way out faster? I've tried everything I can think of but can't survive.
In my quest list I can do: Sandworm Lair, Daikara, Sher'Tul Fortress, or the Storming the city (go to deal with the Tempest). I am currantly 21 level character warrior. Which should I take next if I have to wait for some artifact to show up for the Sandworm Lair?
Thanks in advance.
Oh, and yes, I've searched everywhere here for the answer but didn't see any clues.

Runes of phase door and teleportation are often used. Generally you can do with out those if you follow the worms very closely. But since you are probably sick of the sandworm lair you can skip it. The only dungeon that is "necessary" is tol faras. you can skip a few dungeons if you want to. At your level I would do 2-3 more dungeons and then go to tol faras to kill the master. Also remember that your quest log is not final and you can do whatever you want.

Phew! Thanks. I thought of teleporting but didn't want to end up in the middle of sand.

I'll try some of the others.

If your class has probability travel, or some form of that, it would be easy. In fact, PT makes bot the sandworm lair and the Maze trivial.

Teleporting is unlikely to land you in q dangerous situation in the sandworm lair. Best to have a wand though so you don't have to worry about cooldown. You can also just follow the worms very closely as they dig.

Thanks for the help. I used a combination of teleport via wand and follow the sandworm bit. I teleported to get to different parts of the screen to look at items and then wait for a worm to show up, unless the sand caved in.

I even managed to kill the boss without knowing it! I was surrounded by bad worms and stuff. Picked up loot and noticed the 'grey' item, id'd it and went "OH!".
It was hard not to get over the syndrome of checking all the loot on a level and killing all the bad guys before going down.
