b19 got rid of the ability to sell anything besides gems and artifacts. It was a deliberate decision, and not a bug. Both gems and artifacts now sell for a lot more than they used to, so it evens out, really. Plus you don't have to overburden yourself anymore carrying around stuff you can't even use. It feels weird at first, leaving magic items on the ground, but you get used to it.

The most likely explanation is that the devs did not have enough time to put it into place again.

I remembered a topic with people saying they wanted it back in some form or another, where DarkGod explained his reasons for getting rid of selling to begin with. That was all I remembered about it though.

Don't expect it to happen though. People cried out for potions to come back and that certainly is off the table now. We are at DarkGod's whims - normally he has good whims though ;) Keep an eye on the changelogs with each beta.

DarkGod was fielding an idea, not making a promise.
