ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

It's my first time here, and I can't figure out where to go. The quest log/advice said to go to the southeast, but the only locations on the entire map I can find in ANY direction are the (unreachable for now) high peak, an underwater cave, and dark crypt. And thousands of orcs.

Is it something you have to stand right next to in order to make it appear? Does the tile look like something else (since the minimap in b19 doesn't show exits anymore, I might be overlooking it)? Is it bugged in b19?

There is a town, but it is well hidden. It is in a mountain range on the East of the map.

As it happens, I am at that location right now.
