But they will come looking for you ;)

Anyway as you might have guessed, beta19 will feature a new tactical AI that is used for elites and bosses.
It asserts their current situation, their possible options and choose accordingly.
Also in the meantime, the sentient denizens of Maj'Eyal have threatened to go on strike unless they were given the same rights as the players.
So now they have been: Most humanoids/sentient creatures will now have random infusions/runes at birth.
So this pushover orc fighter you see could very well pop a wild+healing infusion :)
Obviously bosses have their share of goodies too.

Can we cut the runes from their cold dead flesh and sew it into our own skin?

Hmm, maybe Skin of Many should come with a couple of random infusions stuck on!

Did you hear about the bloated horror that had an eye for the ladies? He kept it in his back pocket :D

Haha, yes skinning runes ftw! Maybe a skinning category with talents like rune skinning, infusion skinning, artifact skinning (mixing runes/infusion with % chance to get a random artifact rune/infusion) etc.?

Talking with Het tonight on IRC about AI states and we thought of one that might be interesting.

Opportunist
This state would focus on defensive abilities and keeping it's distance from it's target unless it's target was at 50% or lower hit points or was being attacked by another creature.

Would there be npcs with option to go for dedicated "healer" AI mode?

Say an orc priest, that generally does smiting (solar flares etc), but when in pack he could activate the "healing mode", get in the middle of the pack, and fire the area healing sequence.

Can they not getting healing? That tends to just be really annoying in most game by artificially increase the length of a fight. I would rather them have more resist and defense then have to deal with healing.

If it's individuals with the healing ability then the focus becomes on killing the healer first to help shorten the fight. This usually works well in other games.
