My archmage just got a randart bow. With 1cold[melee] and allows you to breathe in water. It would be marginally useful, if I didn't rescue her RIGHT after I did Sher'tul...

I was remembering this thread and laughing out loud, today.

yeah thats a hard enough quest that it should have a reward list, he can be like, "you saved my daughter! take your pick!" that way you can get something that might be at least marginally useful. just did it and got a really nice randart greatsword. To bad i'm a cursed.

It's not about the artifact it's about the loving!! What kinda hero doesn't need some lovin' at some point in their quest?

A valid point. Wouldn't want to be unfair about these things. Perhaps the quest could be given a second conversation path, starring Melinda's shy, bookish (but still attractive) brother? You give whichever answer indicates "I'm not into girls" and she responds withs "Oh. Well. In that case, I should probably mention that my brother also thinks you're cute."

Or you can have an other quest where you rescue a lad in distress ?
