ToME: the Tales of Maj'Eyal

I can't find it. I have walked on every river tile and every shoreline tile at least 3 times now. This is the second time I have had a shot at the blue wizards and i want to give it everything I can, which means not going to high peak until I find that cave...

Advice anyone?

The RNG just doesn't like you at the moment (unless there is a max level for it, but I doubt it). After playing 4-5 characters who wandered around aimlessly above Lost Hope I thought there was a bug in the Ben Cruithdar [sp] quest but it showed up just fine this time....

I think that the odds for such random occurrences have been lowered.

On the other hand, I encountered the Trapped! Quest with a 1st level Character severalt times in a row today. (I really want the Merchants Store in Lost ... err. Last Hope, but that is a little early to manage.)

And I always find the crypt on my first time out after level 20.

Am I at least walking in the right place to find underwater cave? Along rivers? Shoreline? both?

I'm having trouble finding the cave, too. After looking at the scripts, it looks like there's a bug. IIRC the West and Far East were separate maps. Now they're one large map. It looks to me like DG forgot to set can_encounter="water" for rivers/shorelines in the Far East, which is a necessary condition for the underwater cave encounter. I could be wrong, but it seems it's impossible to find the cave in this version.

I see. Well that makes me feel a little better about finally giving up heh.
