does willpower affect spell damage

I understand that willpower affects one's resistance of a number of things, but does it affect a wizard's spells?

It affects the maximum mana I think. So if you want to eventually try out Essence of Speed (I think or whatever it's called) you'll probably need to have a willpower of 60+ and be rank 30 or so. (450 is a LOT of Mana points....)

Thanks, taxorgian. You seem to often answer my questions. I knew it affected max mana, but as you probably guessed, I had no idea essence of speed was so expensive. Speed would be quite a game changer though ...

Willpower does increase mana/stamina and spell/mental resistance
