Ok, so, Spellblade the 2nd, on a trip to Amon Sul, picked up a galvorn greatsword and a mithril greatsword, both of which are making me drool . . .except i dont have the strength to use them yet. Do I have to lug them around until I can? or is there a house/stash somewhere I can fling them until I'm less noobish?

many . .erm . .. . thanks? . .to Darkgod . . .for a new way to allow me to waste time away at work/dinner/home/etc/etc/etc!

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.
Unfortunately you don't have a home in the current incarnation.

A storage house would be nice, but I'd be just as happy with allowing the player to carry a bit more weight.

thats what I thought, I think there has to be an artifact present for non-egos to stay.

A house probably not.
But I was thinking of having mounts.
Mounts are kinda silyl in most dungeons IMO but it could be a mount that stays on the worldmap only and can carry stuff for you or more if it is a magical one.
Think of it like the car in fallout2, aka the mobile-house :)

This is a cool idea. Would it be an ability that we would need to put points in, or achievement-activated?

Hopefully in towns we could access it without returning to the world map.

Hmm interesting, I'll have to test this.
Well, I regularly do this with archer arrows, do those count as non-egos? Because they do always seem to persist.

With an archer (who already dumped some useless arrows, if that matters), I've also ID'd and then dropped some useless rings and amulets and they also stayed. Maybe items that have almost zero value remain?

hmm, maybe the disappearing only really applies to weapons and armor then??? I lost a mithril plate armor this way (and some mithril weapons, and some nice jewelry), the only way I can get them to stay is with an artifact dropped as well (havent tried arrows).

Considering that dungeons are persistent, items really should be too. It doesn't make a lot of sense that the walls stay where they are when you leave a level, but everything else disappears. A house would still be more convenient, if only because it's easier to find what you're looking for, but on principle I think you should be able to dump stuff where you want and have it stay.

Also, this is a really neat idea.

Levels are persistent but with decay, after a while they'll be gone (though a bug currently makes it disappear after one turn ;).
Imagine that monsters come and go and some might have picked it up :)

Well it does make replenishing your inventory easier.

Ah, ok, I thought that everything disappearing was by design. Maybe there could still be "safe zones", tough, like in towns maybe? Middle-Earth must have some really efficient pickpockets, going by how fast everything you drop in town disappears
