I followed the Player_Display howto and all I got was...

(pun on those typical souvenir t-shirt / mugs)
No crashes, no hangs, can't find any message in te4_log.txt that I can relate to the player_display code, just a grey rectangle on the left of the screen that only displays the player name.
The fact that the grey rectangle does appear makes me think that I'm missing something quite basic... but then the character name IS displayed, which is quite puzzling... somehow the rest of the details that should show up in there are either not calculated or not rendered.
Any clues as to where should I start looking to fix this??
