Hulk: Outer Rim Exploitation

O.R.E, the Outer Rim Exploitation Corporation are long established in the lucrative field of deep space salvage. They are one of three to hold a licence for their business and are fiercely proud of it. Their latest find is hulk designation HZ-433, found drifting far from their usual hunting grounds. Nevertheless, initial scans of the hulk are promising and recruitment to exploit it has begun.

ORE are currently recruiting experienced salvage operators and security operatives to secure and strip bare this hulk of it's precious salvage. Transport to the site will be provided, operatives are to return when they are deemed finished using whatever means available. Bonuses will be paid for unusual finds.

*security officers have now been armed, beware

About time I put up a new version of this.

New Features:
Many bugfixes (no more rarity 0 shenanigans)
Weapon Egos
Character screen
Level up screen
Class specific and universal talents added and learnable

Version 0.1.1 (Tough guy) is now available:

Changes:

Medkits are now available for your healing needs,
A few talents have been fixed (and some underlying bugs relating to them)
Headgear can now have ego's
Body armour is now available!
4 new NPCs await you
NPCs stats have been adjusted, they are no longer a pushover and now wield items rather than their fists.

Changes:
Two new armours
Two new egos
Higher ego chance (20%)
11 more egos in the pool
Ranged weapons no longer spawn with more than max ammo
Player is now provided with a overview map of the hulk
Ranged weapons can no longer spawn with 'half' bullets
Stairs are now shown on the minimap
Ammo descriptions now make it clearer that they are 1 full reload
Name of the starting area changed for consistency
Kick is now a npc only talent (currently unused)
Autorun now stops on items of interest
Starting area difficulty reduced, crew no longer spawn and the maximum number of spawns has been halved.
Npc's now have a small (20-30%) chance of dropping weapons
A welcome message is now displayed when entering the hulk
Flying damage text now shows correct values
Npc's have found their way into the cargo holds
Cargo hold up stairs have now been fixed
Rocket launcher colour now matches rocket launcher ammo

I had a fun time going through with a scavenger, but the game felt much too easy. I started by maxing out salvaging, then went for meele and didn't come across a single situation that I would consider threatening.

Also, a clarification on what the shuttles do would be appreciated. I didn't realize that stepping into one would end the game and I couldn't find a way to return to the hulk after launching the shuttle...

Highlights of this release include hand drawn tiles (by me!). I ran out of time to achieve what I wanted due to real life but I thought I'd push out one more version so the latest code was here for the contest.

N.b. Entering the shuttles and using the computer to launch will trigger ending the game.
