I'd like the shops and other goods sellers to upgrade what their selling as you upgrade your level rather than being stuck with the same stuff each time you enter.

Having only first level stuff when your a level 30 is a waste of time.

They do this already at semi-arbitrary breakpoints that aren't ever communicated to the player.

Unless they were changed at some point to straight up restock when you reach level X0, but even if that is the case it would be nice if we were told that somewhere.

They've been doing a restock every 10 character levels for the past 7 months.

?really, i'm using 1.6.7 on linux64 - offline as i'm on satellite and online is just tooo expensive, and it doesn't seem to be so.

I'll start a new character and see what appears after I hit level 10 and 20, but to date I get the feeling that everything i've gained of higher levels had been out of towns once i've first visited a shop or caravan, nothing better on a revisit.

Its fairly normal that you'd find better stuff in dungeons than in the shops. They are sort of a backup in case of bad drops.
The new system gives more stock updates, but less items each time it updates.
The old stock is retained, so it will look like every store only sells T1/2 stuff, unless you look through their inventories carefully.
